Commuters and air travelers will soon be able to travel between the Makati Central Business District and Clark International Airport (CRK) in under an hour, driven by the ongoing construction of the 147-kilometer North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) system and its dedicated Airport Express service.

The flagship infrastructure project will feature a dedicated railway station located directly inside the Clark International Airport complex. To optimize passenger convenience, the station will connect seamlessly to the main passenger terminal through a modern, elevated walkway designed to minimize transfers and eliminate travel friction.

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary for Right-of-Way Acquisition Irish "IC" Calaguas emphasized that the express rail line is designed to anchor future development in Central Luzon.

Clark International Airport

The project integrates directly into the Clark AeroDistrict—an ambitious master-planned development by airport operator Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) aimed at creating the country's first world-class airport city.

"The Clark Station will serve as the terminal stop for the upcoming Airport Express service, directly connecting CRK to the Makati CBD within an hour," Calaguas noted, highlighting the synergy between transit infrastructure and urban planning.

Key Project Highlights

* System Length: 147-kilometer regional rail corridor connecting Pampanga, Metro Manila, and Laguna.

* Express Travel Time: Sub-60 minutes from Makati Central Business District to Clark International Airport.

* Projected Capacity: 800,000 passengers daily once fully operational across the entire network.

* Northern Terminus: New Clark City and Clark International Airport.

* Southern Terminus: Calamba, Laguna.

Once full operations commence, the line is projected to move up to 800,000 passengers daily, stretching from Clark, Pampanga, through the capital region, all the way to Calamba, Laguna.

By bypassing heavy highway traffic, the express service aims to spur regional business growth and establish a direct connection between Greater Manila's financial core and Central Luzon's premier aviation hub.
